Outdoor kitchens + entertaining · Miami

More reason to live outside.

Obra Fina plans outdoor kitchens as complete living spaces—not isolated appliance runs. Cooking, preparation, refrigeration, storage, seating, lighting, electrical and the relationship to a pergola, pool or waterfront view are developed together for a cohesive result.

The design brief

An outdoor kitchen works best when the whole entertaining area is planned.

The grill is only one part of a useful outdoor kitchen. Preparation space, landing areas, refrigeration, storage, waste, seating and a comfortable path back to the interior kitchen all influence whether the space feels effortless or frustrating during real use.

We plan the kitchen together with its surroundings. A pool may affect circulation and splash exposure. A pergola changes shade, ventilation and lighting opportunities. Waterfront views influence the orientation of seating and the height of counters. Existing utilities and access help determine what can be executed cleanly.

By resolving the layout, material direction, appliances, power and lighting as one scope, Obra Fina creates an outdoor room that feels connected to the home and remains useful beyond a single cooking function.

Typical project scope

Designed together.
Defined clearly.

  • Cooking and preparation zones
  • Weather-ready cabinetry
  • Stone or porcelain counters
  • Appliance coordination
  • Task and ambient lighting
  • Pergola, patio and pool integration

What we consider

01

A workable plan

Clearances, landing space, storage and movement between cooking, dining and the home are resolved before material selections are finalized.

02

Exterior-ready materials

Cabinetry, counters, fixtures and finishes are selected with heat, moisture and outdoor maintenance in mind.

03

Atmosphere after sunset

Task lighting makes the kitchen practical while ambient and landscape lighting help the larger entertaining area feel complete.

Visual direction

Designed to be understood before it is built.

Concept imagery makes scale, material relationships, lighting and the overall atmosphere easier to discuss. It gives the project team a shared visual reference while scope and selections are developed.

Planning priorities

The decisions that shape a better result.

01

Cooking workflow

Appliances, preparation space, landing zones and storage are arranged around how meals will actually be prepared and served.

02

Utilities + ventilation

Power, water, drainage and heat-producing equipment are coordinated with the structure, surrounding finishes and open-air conditions.

03

Seating + sightlines

Counter seating, dining and lounge areas are positioned to maintain conversation, circulation and the strongest property views.

04

Weather exposure

Sun, rain, prevailing exposure and proximity to pools or waterfront conditions inform shade and material recommendations.

Materials + systems

Outdoor materials selected as a complete working palette.

Exterior kitchens need surfaces and components suited to heat, moisture and regular cleaning while maintaining the refinement expected of the residence.

  • Weather-ready cabinetry systems
  • Stone, porcelain or exterior-suitable counters
  • Outdoor-rated appliances and refrigeration
  • Task lighting and protected electrical devices
  • Backsplash and wall finishes coordinated with the home
  • Hardware and plumbing fixtures selected for exterior use

Questions about outdoor kitchens

Useful answers before you begin.

Can you coordinate the pergola and outdoor kitchen together?+

Yes. Designing both as one project allows the structure, ventilation, power, lighting, furniture zones and sightlines to be coordinated before construction.

Do you help plan appliances and storage?+

Yes. We develop the layout around the intended appliances, preparation needs, refrigeration, storage and entertaining style.

Can an outdoor kitchen be added near an existing pool or patio?+

Often, yes. We review the existing area, access and utilities, then develop a direction that fits the property and current outdoor spaces.

What materials work well for a Miami outdoor kitchen?+

The final palette depends on exposure and design, but exterior-ready cabinetry, suitable counters, outdoor-rated appliances and protected electrical components are typical priorities.

What should I decide before contacting Obra Fina?+

You do not need a finished appliance list. Photos, approximate dimensions, how you entertain and a few inspiration images are enough to begin a productive design conversation.
